Joey's project was the reconstruction of a retaining
wall at the Palo Alto Little League Park on Middlefield
Road. Joey wanted to give back to the community where
he played many games and had many fond memories. He
combined his interest in baseball and scouting to
build a brick retaining wall behind center field.
The new wall required over 200 hours of work and was
completed under budget. The wall stands just over three
feet tall and thirty-two feet long. It is built on a
solid concrete foundation. The wall was constructed
of concrete block and filled solid with concrete,
reinforced by steel rebar and covered with brick veneer.
The structure supports the three flagpoles behind centerfield.
